Codependency
Emotional, psychological and behavioral state which is characterized by dependency on people.
Common characteristics:
- Feeling oneself responsible for the feelings, thoughts actions and wishes of other people
- Feeling oneself annoyed when help is not satisfactory
- Anticipating to other people's needs
- Playing the role of victim when one's desires are not met
- Laying the blame on others for one's own actions- Holding others responsible
- Having a low self esteem
- Repressing, holding back one's feelings
- Trying to take others by surprise when a mistake occurs
- Self abandonment
- Being overridden with guilt
- Being obsessed with controlling the life of others
- Denying difficulties
- Believing in lies
- Getting stuck in relationships that don't work
- Having poor relationships from the point of view of communication (they blame, threat or cheat)
- Not saying what or how they feel
- Being complacent
- Avoiding speaking about oneself
- Setting limits or boundaries but failing to keep them
- Being overcome by rage and concealing it
- Feeling afraid of causing anger en others
